The Space

Bright and airy chalet in Big Bear’s desirable Moonridge area, with breathtaking ski slope and forest views. Soak in the outdoors from our two spacious decks, and large hot tub. Designed with fun, comfort and families in mind; loaded with amenities, A/C, entertainment, well appointed kitchen. Ideal setting for the remote work lifestyle, with ultra high speed wifi and smart home features. Minutes from all the best of Big Bear – ski resorts, lake, village, trails, restaurants, shops, nightlife!

The Grey Chalet is a warm and inviting escape, with an open floor plan, soaring vaulted ceilings, natural materials, and set high among the trees. UPSTAIRS: A large and open living area, dining area, open kitchen and one full-size bathroom. Split A/C plus a powerful ceiling fan keeps the entire home cool all summer. Living room features 55” Smart TV, combo foosball/pool/air hockey table, huge 80” projector screen, telescope for stargazing, books, cookbooks, games, puzzles, children’s toys.

The leather sofa upstairs is a sleeper, with a brand new queen-size Leggett & Platt mattress. The dining area seats 6, plus a high chair. In this area, you’ll also find a sweet vinyl listening nook outfitted with an Audio Technica turntable, Bang & Olufsen speaker and an eclectic vinyl collection.

The kitchen includes a new “retro” style fridge, Jenn-Air downdraft stove/oven, premium coffee and tea bar, Ninja blender, Ninja Air Fryer. Upper deck features two seating areas, shade, gas fire pit, and a deluxe BBQ with connected gas line (no need for propane tank). DOWNSTAIRS: Two large bedrooms and one large full-size bathroom.

Flexible sleeping options – Bedroom #1 includes one king bed with a luxe Casper Wave Hybrid mattress, plus one comfortable twin pull out bed (stored in the closet with easy access). Bedroom #2 includes four bunk beds (two twins, two full size). Both bedrooms have Smart TV’s and blackout shades. Home sleeps 7 

High capacity washer and dryer (washer is brand new). Ski/snowboard rack and boot dryer are provided next to the back entry door, for snow gear storage. Downstairs wraparound deck has a porch swing that overlooks the hot tub and scenic mountain views.

HEATING/COOLING: NEW split A/C and heating systems (note: A/C is upstairs only – downstairs stays cool without). NEW high-powered ceiling fan upstairs; extra fans and space heater are also provided downstairs. BABY/KID GEAR: All essential baby/kid gear provided – Baby Bjorn travel crib, high chair, booster seat, baby bath, kids plates, kids cutlery, shatterproof acrylic cups, Babyganics dish soap, baby bottle brush, bottle drying rack, small selection of children’s books and toys.

Stairs are fitted on both ends with sturdy and foldable Scandinavian BabyDan gates; stair railing is fitted with clear plexiglass.

OUTDOOR GEAR: Limited outdoor/summer gear provided (camping chairs, small Igloo cooler, beach umbrella.)

TOILETRIES: Premium toiletries provided, including Puracy products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash); makeup remover towelettes; EO body lotion, epsom bath salts, and bubble bath.

PARKING/ACCESS: You can park a maximum of three cars in our driveway. House sits on a hill at the top of the long, private driveway. You can park at the top of the driveway for direct/easier house access. Alternately, you can park at the bottom of the hill and walk up a longer flight of steps to the front door. Side by side parking at the bottom of the driveway.

TECH: High speed internet (the fastest available for residential = 1000 MBPS). Smart home features throughout, including self check-in, Nest, wireless audio, smart TVs (loaded with Netflix, Hulu, ESPN, Disney+), USB outlets and extra surge protectors. Ideal for remote work or distance learning. Note: Front and back entry doors both have Ring cameras.

Moonridge is Big Bear’s most desirable neighborhood, known for its forest surroundings, spectacular views and close proximity to all activities.

Within minutes of The Grey Chalet, you’ll find Bear Mountain Resort, Snow Summit Resort, Big Bear Lake, Alpine Zoo, Big Bear Lake Village, scenic walks, hiking trails, roller coaster, golf, mini golf, go karts, horseback riding, kayaks, boating, fishing, mountain biking, zipline, sledding, tubing, gold mining, rock climbing, bowling, etc. Bike rentals are down the street, lots of trails and hills to snow sled on (sleds in our front closet), even in our own backyard when the snow is there. Ski shuttle to Bear Mountain is within walking distance of our cabin. Our driveway is slightly steep so when snowing it is best to have a 4×4 or chains as our driveway is not flat.

This is a hillside retreat with spectacular views of Bear Mountain and lots of trees in an upscale quaint community called Moonridge.
